Mix and More

Mix and More is a home accessories and lifestyle store located in Sway Mall, New Cairo. The interior design aims to reflect the brand’s eclectic and cozy spirit, creating a welcoming space where diverse home items, from vibrant toys to elegant accessories, can be displayed harmoniously. Design Concept The core concept of the space is driven by the idea of a form-generating vertex, an imagined point in space pulled down from the ceiling to the ground. This gesture creates a fluid, down-bended ceiling that acts as a visual focal point and gives the space its unique identity. This sculptural form is then sliced to form the main lighting core, casting soft indirect light onto a display step directly beneath it. The interplay of ceiling curvature and lighting subtly guides the customer’s journey and creates moments of visual emphasis.

The core concept of the space is driven by the idea of a form-generating vertex, an imagined point in space pulled down from the ceiling to the ground. This gesture creates a fluid, down-bended ceiling that acts as a visual focal point and gives the space its unique identity.

This sculptural form is then sliced to form the main lighting core, casting soft indirect light onto a display step directly beneath it. The interplay of ceiling curvature and lighting subtly guides the customer’s journey and creates moments of visual emphasis.
To provide a calm, neutral backdrop for the wide range of colorful products, the interior uses a monochrome material palette: Rough white paint envelops the walls and ceiling and Metallic finishes define the display tables and selected shelving. 
This combination enhances contrast and allows the accessories and toys to visually pop without competing with their surroundings.
Lighting plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere. The project relies on soft, indirect lighting integrated into architectural elements to create a warm, comfortable ambiance. The main lighting core provides gentle illumination, avoiding harsh shadows and reinforcing the store’s cozy aesthetic.
The project features a variety of shelving types, including metal shelves, painted shelves, high display openings, display tables, and ambient lighting shelves, designed to showcase products with flexibility and visual balance.
The space flows with curved, fluid lines designed to evoke a sense of harmony, coziness, and movement. These continuous forms help soften the retail environment, making it feel more like a curated gallery than a commercial space.
A sculptural, iconic metal counter anchors the space as a bold visual and functional centerpiece, combining clean lines with a reflective industrial touch. In front of it, a comfortable waiting sofa invites visitors to pause, adding a layer of hospitality to the retail experience.
